brand & strategy development for This is Africa

I am a trustee of TIA platform, steering a group of progressive thinkers working remotely from Kenya, Nigeria and Zimbabwe. I joined the team at in 2018, with a clear brief that I needed to transition this amazing project from the corridors of RNW Media in Netherlands, into a self sustaining local organisation somewhere suitable on the African continent, perhaps the first African owned Media house, one that is dedicated to the cause of Africans on the continent and across the globe. We are still at it!

ThisIsAfrica.Me, (TIA) a leading pan- African-thought platform that presents credible, informed and accurate reflection of the continent to both a pan-African and global audience, by offering fresh insights on African issues by Africans. TIA embodies a deeply bold and disruptive digital media engagement of the continent and diaspora on matters of African identity, human rights, life & style, leadership, innovation & entrepreneurship. TIA engages an audience of 1 Million subscribers, spread across Website (200K active users/month), Facebook (850K), Twitter (36K) Instagram (2K). 60% of this audience is based in Africa, while 40% is in the diaspora. The primary target audience for TIA youth aged aged between 18 to 35 years who form 60% of subscribership.

_mwl GT – transitioned the outfit from a  project based in RNW Media in Hilversum  Netherlands, to a fully fledged local Trust operating from Nairobi Kenya.
